2018 USPAA Conference Call for Presentations
The Call for Programs for the 2018 USPAA Conference is now officially open! Share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues when we come together at Santa Clara University June 27-29, 2018. Deadline for proposals is Friday, May 15th.
All ideas are welcome. I’ve included several possible topics for presentations below. Formal presentations are not a requirement; some of our most successful programs have been casual round-table discussions.
Ideas for session topics include:
Scholar classes / seminars
Publicizing your scholar program on-campus
Scholarship / Foundation Boards
Working with gifted and high achieving students
Keeping alumni connected and engaged
Academic advising for scholars
Engaging the scholar who is far from engaged
How to foster a sense of appreciation among your scholars
Recruitment – Publicizing programs; Designing applications and essay and interview questions; Training interviewers; Best practices during recruitment events; Use of social media; Yield strategies
Scholar Programming – Leadership training; Civic engagement and volunteerism; Study abroad; Best programming moments; Retreats; Safety and well-being; on campus programs
Collaboration on/off campus – National Scholarships & Awards; Financial Aid; Admissions; Development; International programming; Faculty
